It's happening, Generational winger gives green light for Liverpool talks

Liverpool have been given the green light for talks with a truly generational talent. The Reds could make something incredible happen here.

Liverpool need a new winger. That much is clear to everyone watching but the reality is that they likely need two.

Cody Gakpo is heavily linked with a move away, while Mohamed Salah left this summer. Those two were quite comfortably the most productive wide players at the club last season and now both could be gone.

And this coming after a season in which Liverpool simply lacked production from wide areas. Even if both stayed, we imagine the Reds would enter the market for someone new.

Of course, there's been plenty of talk around a deal for Bradley Barcola but he's a left-sided player. That wouldn't fill the void on the right but one player would: Ibrahim Mbaye.

That's a signing we've been calling for as the teenager has been considered a departure at Paris Saint-Germain for some time now. Mbaye can play on the right or the left, though has operated far more often on the former.

He was there for Senegal at the World Cup, in fact, scoring against France. Mbaye is the big hope for his country - and unquestionably one of the biggest talents in football right now.

So count us excited as Fabrice Hawkins has confirmed that Liverpool are now entering talks for Mbaye. The Reds have been given the green light to do so from the player himself, and will formally start negotiations with PSG 'shortly'.

And that's what we've been crying out for. A generational talent out on the right and one who could become a genuine superstar. The exact kind of signing Liverpool needed in what is a pretty dreadful market.
