Hughes has brought in players with huge profiles, while beating competition from arch rivals and teams with much more financial power in order to sign them.

From Florian Wirtz to Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike. All of them chose Liverpool even though they had other options. But they wanted the Reds and because of that Liverpool could negotiate the best possible transfer fee for their services.

Now on top of arrivals, Hughes is also doing an excellent job with player sales.

From the £15m agreement to sell Tyler Morton to not budging on their demands for Luis Diaz in order to get Bayern Munich to pay the highest possible fee.

Jarell Quansah was also sold for a record price for a Liverpool academy player and accounted for 'pure profit.'

Now there are a few other notable players who Hughes wants to part ways with. Chiefly among them is Darwin Nunez, who has been surplus to requirements for a while.

And it looks like Liverpool are closing in on parting ways with the Uruguayan. According to Fabrizio Romano, contrary to other reports, Liverpool have agreed a deal for him to leave the club with Al Hilal.

In fact, he replied under a post from Ben Jacobs, confirming this claim on his X account. Romano said that the deal for Nunez was '350%' done when it comes to the club to club agreement.

The only thing now missing is for Nunez to complete his move to Al Hilal, and agree terms with the Saudi club. We know Nunez's preference has been to stay in Europe.

However, Al Hilal have the financial might to offer him massive wages that should motivate Nunez to change his stance and accept the move.

Ultimately, it's a deal that once completed will help Liverpool become even closer to being able to afford Nunez's eventual replacement, who is set to be Alexander Isak.

Once again, Hughes has played his cards right, waited for the best possible offer and got it.
