Fabrizio Romano confirms another Liverpool star could now leave
Another fan favourite could leave Liverpool according to Fabrizio Romano.
Change is sweeping through Anfield as the club steps into a new era under Arne Slot. After years of stability and a clear identity, this summer is shaping up to be yet another period of transition.
Slot is slowly imposing his own ideas onto the team and he now needs his own players and team. Last summer the Reds begun this process and it's set to continue again.
Like last summer, this won’t simply be a minor adjustment as a fair few windows were under Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool are again preparing for a window that could redefine the core of the team, with key departures already confirmed and plenty of new faces likely to arrive.
Established roles may be challenged, younger players could be given greater responsibility, and the overall structure of the squad is set to be reshaped.
Whether this is the right move remains to be seen. Slot having this much backing from the club's senior officials raises some questions given how this season has unfolded.
As part of these sweeping changes, players are going to be on the move as well.
Both Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson are set to leave the club, marking the end of an era for two players who have been central to Liverpool’s success in recent years. Their exits will not only leave a gap in quality, but also in leadership and experience within the squad.
There is also growing uncertainty surrounding Alisson Becker, who could follow them out of Anfield when the window opens. While no deal is confirmed, interest is there - particularly from Juventus.
The possibility of losing a goalkeeper widely regarded as one of the best in the world would represent another significant blow.
These developments come just a year after Liverpool parted ways with key figures such as Luis Diaz and Trent Alexander-Arnold, further accelerating the sense of transition at the club. The cumulative effect of these exits signals a dramatic reshaping of the team.
And it looks like another player, who is a fan favourite could also be on the move.
Curtis Jones has endeared himself to supporters over the last few years. He is a boyhood Red, who came through the academy ranks.
The last scouser in the team, his passion and quality on the pitch has made him a well-liked figure among Liverpool supporters - although not so much in the eyes of Slot.
Jones doesn't seem to be much favoured by the Dutchman and with one year left on his contract, it looks like he could be leaving for pastures new.
According to Romano, the Reds are prepared to let him go and there are already several big clubs interested in his services.
"Curtis Jones could leave Liverpool in the summer as talks over new deal have been stalling for months," Romano said.
"Inter have been interested since January and remain keen, depending on price tag. Premier League clubs also involved."
This would see another key player, who is well-liked by supporters leave the club. And it would raise the question of which direction Liverpool are heading towards if the club is so prepared to discard most of its important figures.
