David Ornstein confirms it: Liverpool looking into brilliant €70m signing

David Ornstein has confirmed Liverpool's interest in a fantastic signing. We're crossing our fingers for this one.

Liverpool are busy working on their next group of transfers, set for January. And we do expect there to be business that month - it's plain to see that there are gaps in the squad coming out of the summer.

Andoni Iraola absolutely deserves to have those gaps filled. He's only going to deliver his best if he's got a group capable of it and this one lacks players in key areas.

The most notable is in midfield, where Liverpool are short of a defensive player. That was apparent once again vs Atlético Madrid on Wednesday as Julian Alvarez walked through the middle of the pitch to create for Marcos Llorente's goal.

It was also apparent against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest. Teams can push through the middle and get their heads up against Liverpool.

That needs fixing. We imagine the club will move to do just that in the winter window and it certainly sounds as though they've made an initial movement in that direction.

Liverpool want Lamine Camara

A lot was made coming out of the summer window of Ben Jacobs reporting on a strong interest in Lamine Camara. Liverpool reportedly contacted both the player and AS Monaco about a potential transfer.

He understands that Liverpool told Monaco that they'd enter the race for him in 2027 and potentially get near to the €70m asking price. The player is thought to be keen on that move.

And now the ever-reliable David Ornstein confirms an interest in Camara. He doesn't go further than that but it's clear that Liverpool are indeed looking at the player and his start to the season will only exacerbate their interest.

Camara looks like a truly standout midfielder and one who would absolutely improve the options at Anfield. Potentially to an incredibly high level, too, as they lack someone in his profile.

We will continue to cross our fingers over this one. Camara is a player we rate very, very highly and Liverpool appear to feel the same.
