Curtis Jones has already explained who Liverpool will side with

Mohamed Salah's outburst about his lack of playing time at Liverpool last week has caused quite a stir.

The Egyptian King was the Reds' best player by some distance last season with the club unlikely to have won the Premier League title without his help.

And, while many thought that the Reds would easily retain their title this term, that's been far from the case with the club now 10th in the top flight table.

It was already clear that the club had already reached breaking point but Salah's outburst was just the cherry on top of the cake.

Since the attacker's unhappiness was so public, questions were being asked about his future and whether Liverpool would side with Arne Slot or Salah.

And now, it seems like Curtis Jones has answered that question.

Curtis Jones says Liverpool's team are sticking by Arne Slot

The discussion of who Fenway Sports Group should back between Salah and Slot has been rife over the last week or so.

This sort of public falling out rarely happens in football and when it does, it often rocks the boat.

Divides are usually created among squads but, with the attacker being left out of Liverpool's squad and Liverpool then going on to beat Inter Milan in the Champions League, it's clear that the Reds are still strong.

And, while speaking after Liverpool's Champions League clash, Jones gave his thoughts on who Liverpool's first-team squad will end up backing in the long-run.

"He [Slot] is human at the end of the day,” he said in quotes relayed by BBC Sport.

β€œIf we get beat in games, it affects him, it affects us all too the same way it affects fans. He is a positive man, he always makes a change.

β€œThe style of play has changed a bit. He is as hungry as ever, exactly the same with us. He is there with us and we are there with him as well."

Arne Slot and Mohamed Salah must work things out before it's too late

Realistically, Liverpool's fanbase won't want Slot or Salah to exit any time soon.

Indeed, things haven't quite gone to plan this term but with how dominant they were last season, it's surely only a matter of time before things start to click.

Both Slot and Salah will have their names etched in Anfield's history books for years to come.

Of course, the latter of the two has more to show for his time in L4 but if Slot stays as the Reds' manager, he could end up creating and leaving his own legacy on Merseyside.

Both parties were essential to the Reds' successes last term and, even if one of them ends up exiting at some point this season, that doesn't mean that everything will be back to sunshine and rainbows in an instant.

There are still a lot of questions about what the future holds for Liverpool and their first-team squad, but as long as they all stick together, everything will work out fine.
