Alexander Isak is on the verge of joining Liverpool after latest Newcastle update
Alexander Isak is now on the verge of joining Liverpool after the latest updates around Newcastle.
It's pretty clear that the Swede has made his decision, and it's also pretty clear that the Magpies have accepted that decision.

Everything points towards Isak joining Liverpool. It's just a matter of time. Not if it happens but when.
For Michael Edwards this has been a pursuit long in the making. His group of scouts and recruitment team have identified Isak as a target for Liverpool all the way back when he was playing in Sweden as a teenager at AIK.
They then wanted to sign him while at Real Sociedad but missed out on his signature.
Now, at the third time of asking, Liverpool will do everything to make the deal happen. And they are now on the verge of completing the move.
The biggest obstacle in the matter has always been Newcastle. They have been reluctant to accept the fact that Isak wants to leave and there is nothing they can do to stop him.
But finally there seems to be an acceptance on their part, and progress in bringing in replacements for the Swede.
This became clear in the latest flurry of updates on Friday. The first positive was that Newcastle are ready to finalise a deal for Yoanne Wissa as per Sky Sports' Keith Downie writing on X.
Wissa is just one part of the puzzle though. Newcastle want a younger forward to replace Isak. Their pursuit obviously ended miserably missing out on Benjamin Sesko.
However, they are now moving onto alternative targets. David Ornstein has reported in The Athletic that the Magpies are now working on a deal for Porto striker, Samu.
The path for Isak is now clear and the most obvious indication of that is the fact that he's been left out of Newcastle's pre-season friendlies on Friday night. Isak is not involved against Espanyol and he won't be involved against Atletico Madrid on Saturday either.
This latest update is really a damning indication that he's going to be on his way to the Reds.
He's training alone and as soon as Newcastle complete the deal for Wissa and Samu, he'll be able to complete his move to Liverpool.
For now he's on the verge of joining, and it's only a matter of time until the deal happens.
Liverpool just have to hope Newcastle are able to act swiftly and get their deals over the line. After that, the path will be completely clear.
