Video: Throwback to Liverpool’s stunning 4-2 win over Fulham

On this day in 2004, Liverpool came from behind to defeat Fulham 4-2 in truly sensational fashion, with Xabi Alonso netting his first goal for the club. The game, itself, was typically dramatic for the Reds, who never do seem to do it the easy way. On this occasion, at Craven Cottage, Rafa Benitez’s side found themselves 2-0 down in the first-half, before mounting a comeback in the second period.

Alonso’s goal was the pick of the bunch, as he made it 3-2 from an inch-perfect free-kick. The Spanish midfielder stepped up, before curling beautifully into the top left corner, giving the keeper no chance.
