Liverpool forward Sadio Mane ensured that Senegal defeated Zimbabwe 1-0 last night to kickstart their Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

Senegal won a penalty in stoppage time. As you can see in the footage below, which has been provided by Sky Sports, Mane stood up and converted the spot kick.

Anfield Watch Verdict

Mane is a top player. The winger has found the back of the net 107 times and registered 44 assists in 244 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

Therefore, we weren't surprised to see Mane stand up when it mattered most for his country.

We wish the 29-year-old all the best for the remainder of the tournament.
