One Liverpool star now looks certain to leave after 'no progress' in talks. The Reds are set to say goodbye.

It seems more likely than ever that Liverpool will say goodbye to Andy Robertson when the season ends. The Scot’s contract will expire and it appears likely to stay that way.

Football Insider reports that there has been ‘no progress’ in talks between Liverpool and Robertson. That’s left Celtic at least a little confident of signing the boyhood fan without a transfer fee in the summer.

There is still time for things to change but it feels as though April is the absolute latest for an agreement between the two parties. Liverpool don’t want this one dragging into the summer, after all, as they’d need a replacement.

But honestly? It feels like Robertson remaining with the club is a long shot.

Andy Robertson: Situation Summary

Contract and Transfer Speculation

With less than four months remaining on his deal, there has been no official breakthrough in negotiations. Reports from The Athletic and Football Insider indicate that while a contract offer is on the table, both parties are willing to wait until the end of the season to make a final decision. Robertson was subject to a £5 million bid from Tottenham in January, which he turned down to assist Liverpool during a defensive crisis. However, rumors of a return to Celtic or a move to Atletico Madrid persist as he reportedly weighs up his next steps.

Role and Statistics

The 32-year-old’s playing time has diminished since the £40 million arrival of Milos Kerkez last summer. Robertson has transitioned into a secondary option, featuring in 28 games across all competitions with 2 goals and 2 assists. He remains a valued leader, recently producing a standout performance with a goal and an assist in the FA Cup win over Wolves.
