Real Madrid finalise plans in Liverpool BOMBSHELL
Real Madrid are finalising their plans and that’s a proper bombshell for Liverpool. The Reds must figure things out fast.
Real Madrid and Liverpool can't escape one another in the transfer market. That's usually the case regardless of anything else, simply because they target a lot of the same players.
But it's especially the case over the last couple of seasons. Trent Alexander-Arnold was largely to blame as he decided to run his Liverpool contract down in order to move to Madrid.
It was a story that risked dominating last season - and probably would have if not for the successful title charge. Real Madrid wanted Liverpool's homegrown star and got him in the end.
Now they're at it again. They're hoping to sign Ibrahima Konate from the Reds as his contract expires in the summer.
And there's been a bombshell update for Liverpool in that regard.
Real Madrid's transfer plans
TeamTalk reports that Real Madrid have told Como's Nico Paz that they're 'counting on him' for next season. They're busy finalising their team for next season, in other words.
Paz is a former Real Madrid graduate and one with a buyback clause in his contract. It appears he's wanted back 'home' next year and Madrid aren't shy on letting him no.
The problem for Liverpool is that Konate's contract expires at the end of the season, Real Madrid want him, and it appears they're currently setting their plans in stone. Doing so with the Frenchman may well be the end of any productive talks between the Reds and their centre-back.
Those talks have been going on for around a year now, too. Liverpool have been struggling to get Konate to sign and a commitment from Madrid would surely end them.
The Reds have got to get Konate to commit fast - if there's even still time.
