Premier League announcement confirms INEVITABLE Liverpool decision

A recent Premier League announcement has indirectly confirmed a major Liverpool decision.

On Wednesday afternoon, Chelsea star Eden Hazard was announced as the latest inductee into the Hall of Fame, following Manchester United's Gary Neville who received the honour last weekend.

The two have now joined an exclusive club, which only 24 players and two managers are in.

Liverpool are currently represented in the Hall of Fame by Steven Gerrard, although it's now become clearer than ever that another Red will be joining him in the near future. It's an inevitable decision.

Salah WILL be in the Hall of Fame

The fan debate regarding Hazard and Mohamed Salah has been a feature of every international break in recent memory, with the pair being considered two of the best ever Premier League wingers.

Outside of Thierry Henry, the Belgian is the only other winger to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the obvious absentee, who normally features down the right-hand side of all-time XIs, despite Liverpool fans' insistence that Salah deserves to be playing ahead of him. What's clear, however, is that Hazard doesn't stand a chance in those debates, yet he's so highly rated.

The point of this article is not to slander the Chelsea winger. After all, he scored 84 goals and made 54 assists in eight seasons, winning the Premier League twice - each time under a different manager.

Fans of the Blues wouldn't ordinarily lean on his stats in their arguments surround how good Hazard was, not least because his goal catalogue and breathtaking dribbling weren't something you could fully appreciate through the underlying numbers. It was his impact on the pitch which was so good.

But the overall picture that we get from looking back at Salah's career is similar, except he's superior in every way to the Belgian. Knowing that Hazard's career was good enough to get into the Hall of Fame should give Liverpool fans great optimism over the Egyptian's chances in a few years' time.

After all, in twelve seasons - including his time at Chelsea - Salah has 189 goals and 89 assists in 310 appearances. That's more than double Hazard's goals and close to double his assist numbers.

Furthermore, the sheer number of iconic goals that Salah has delivered is almost beyond belief, with every finish imaginable having been scored. And when it comes to the big occasions, his record is unrivalled, with 50 goals and 22 assists coming in 83 appearances against the traditional 'big six'.

Hazard never won the Premier League golden boot, although he has won the playmaker award once.

Meanwhile, the Liverpool winger has four golden boots and two playmaker awards to his name, in addition to three times the PFA Player of the Year, to Hazard's one time securing the accolade.

As mentioned earlier, Hazard is a two-time Premier League winner, and Salah achieved that feat last season, under Jurgen Klopp in 2020 and under Arne Slot in 2025, so they're level on trophies won.

To reiterate, I'm not suggesting for a second that Hazard doesn't deserve his recognition in the Hall of Fame, because he does. But if his achievements in the Premier League have set the bar for what is required by a player to follow in his footsteps, then Salah should have no doubts about his chances.

It's easy to forget just how good Salah was, with most rival fans calling a poor performance followed by a goal contribution as a 'typical Salah game', when in reality, his age is now starting to catch up to him, but it wouldn't go amiss if more focus was brought to the eight other magical season's he had for the Reds, breaking countless records and pronouncing himself as one of the all-time greats.
