There's a Mohamed Salah regen coming to Liverpool's first-team and finally becoming a regular member.

Because of the sheer quality in Arne Slot's senior set-up some of the club's academy players have been frustrated by a lack of opportunities at first-team level.

Under Jurgen Klopp, academy stars would get a lot more chances to earn a promotion, partly because Klopp preferred to work with a smaller squad with more young players incorporated and also because the German was willing to rotate his options and had the ability to instil confidence in his younger players.

With Slot, it's different. He demands elite levels from everyone in training which means opportunities are more rare for young players.

Only the very best are rewarded with games at first-team level. So far, this includes Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni, who have become increasingly more important for Liverpool at first-team level during Slot's tenure so far.

But, there will soon be another player added to that list, and he's eerily similar to Mo Salah, which is perfect timing considering the Egyptian will be ending his reign at Anfield come the conclusion of the current campaign.

Liverpool are embarking on a crucial period of the season.

There's going to be key matches fought in the FA Cup, Europe and in the Premier League with a lot at stake in all competitions.

The next two weeks will see Liverpool probably needing to rotate a lot because games are going to be coming thick and fast and it means Slot is going to have to use some of his younger players.

It's in light of this that Kieran Morrison, who made his second appearances for the first-team against Wolves in the FA Cup last month after he made his debut against Crystal Palace in the League Cup earlier on in the season, has now seemingly joined the first-team on a regular basis.

Why Kieran Morrison is a Salah regen

Morrison was spotted in training with the first-team on Thursday, joining the rest of the team after the return of the international break.

This follows after his first call up to Northern Ireland's senior team, which shows just how highly they regard him.

The youngster was actually signed from Manchester United and he's been setting the U21s alight recently.

Morrison is 19-years-old, and he's been by far and away the standout player for Liverpool at U21 level since the start of last season.

He made the most goal contributions (11) for the U21 side during a disappointing campaign last season, where Morrison was among the few players to have shone.

Now this season, he 22 goal contributions in 25 games for the Reds at academy level.

A right-winger with a wand of a left foot, there are similarities between him and Salah. Like Salah, Morrison likes to cut into the middle and he has the ability to score from inside and outside the penalty area.

On top of that, similarly to Salah, he's not just a goal-scorer but he's a creator as well. He can create abundant opportunities for his teammates, and he's become very selfless over the course of the last season or so.

Morrison has been waiting for this opportunity for a while now.

Without Salah in the team, Slot doesn't have too many options on the right-wing. Federico Chiesa could play there. Maybe Jeremie Frimpong.

But it looks like the next few months will see Morrison finally coming to the first-team and showcasing on a regular basis that he can be an option post-Salah.
