Massive £20m investment is COMING to Liverpool

A big investment is coming to Liverpool worth £20m.

You can have your criticisms over the way FSG run the club but there is no denying that they have significantly improved the Reds since their takeover.

In 2010, when FSG arrived at Liverpool, the club was in a sorry state. Financially in ruins and suffering from mediocrity on the pitch.

The outlook on the future was bleak.

But over 15 years later, FSG have dramatically increased Liverpool's fortunes and have helped grow the club in a sustainable and organic fashion.

Nowadays, the Reds are one of the best teams in Europe, and consistently compete at the highest levels. Liverpool's supporter base has grown under FSG and history has been written several times, with plenty of major trophy success.

FSG's focus on improving the club's facilities has also been important.

The club's North American owners have increased Anfield's capacity and refurbished a lot of the stands in the stadium. They also built a new state of the art training centre at the heart of Kirkby, which was a major improvement on the club's previous Melwood facilities.

Now they are about to add another £20m investment.

As per This is Anfield, the club's ambitious plans to improve the academy's training facilities has been unveiled.

The work designed by KSS is estimated to be complete by 2028 and it will see Liverpool having a new full-sized indoor pitch which will be linked to the current academy building.

There will also be a new 500-seat and a TV gantry which will bring the facilities in line with UEFA requirements.

In addition to this other facilities will also be enhanced such as the dressing rooms and a newly large gym. Staff offices will also be built and new medical facilities will be in place, too.

It's a significant improvement on the current facilities at Liverpool's academy. The fact that FSG are willing to invest £20m into the project shows just how much they value the club, and it's academy.

Liverpool have grown tremendously in terms of producing elite academy talent under FSG's leadership.

Since, FSG took over the club, Liverpool have generated mass profits from selling their academy players and have also integrated numerous graduates into the club's first-team.

This latest project and investment is a reward for the excellent work that has been done. It's also yet more signs of what is to come.

Liverpool want to become one of the best academies in world football and attract the biggest stars on the planet even at youth level.

Having facilities like this is going to make Liverpool an even more appealing prospect than it already is to young players.

This means the £20m investment is guaranteed to reap its rewards in the years to come.
