Liverpool's Polish wonderkid EARNS England call-up

Liverpool have two exciting young talents at the academy who can represent Hungary and Poland.

Gone are the days when the club's academy has a plethora of Hungarian and Polish young stars in the squad. There was a time when Hungarians like Krisztian Nemeth, Krisztian Adorjan and Peter Gulacsi were at Liverpool at the same time.

Meanwhile, there has also been an influx of Polish wonderkids at the club. From Mateusz Musialowski to Kamil Grabara, Fabian Mrozek and Jakub Ojrzynski.

Nowadays there are less of these EU based academy players because of Brexit. This has prevented Liverpool from signing players from EU countries when they turn 16-years-old.

Instead Liverpool can now only make international signings when players celebrate their 18th birthday, and only if they meet a strict criteria.

Yet despite this, there are still Hungarian and Polish wonderkids at the club. These players either emigrated to England at a very young age or they have parents who were born in the above mentioned countries.

One of these young players is Erik Farkas, who was born in Hungary and represents England at U17 level. He's among the most talented stars in the academy and has been very highly rated from a young age since joining the club as a 10-year-old.

Another is Aiden Yeguo. He has been at Liverpool since U9 level and he's recently made the breakthrough to the club's U18 side where he has caught the eye and has been one of the better players in the team.

The two of them recently combined for a goal in the mini-derby with Farkas setting up Yeguo during a defeat to Everton.

Yeguo has mostly represented Poland's international youth sides but his performances have caught the eye of the Three Lions as well.

England have announced their latest U17 squad for games against the USA, Ivory Coast and Australia in November and this latest squad includes three Liverpool players.

Farkas and Liam Balmer are part of the team, but they've had previous call-ups. Farkas has two assists in three games for England at that level.

Bamer, who is a full-back has also caught the eye in his outings with the Three Lions.

But now they won't be alone. Yeguo has also been called-up to the squad for the first-time.

The youngster therefore will likely make his debut during the international camp this month to cap off what has been a very impressive season for him so far.

Only earlier this month, Yeguo made his U19 debut in the UEFA Youth League, becoming the fourth youngest player to make an appearance for Liverpool in the competition.

The players who have made an appearance at a younger age than him are Trent Alexander-Arnold, Rio Ngumoha and Trent Kone-Doherty.

That's an impressive list.

So he's definitely a player to keep a close eye on. Yeguo's speed, technical quality and his strength make him a real nuisance for defenders. He's also an ideal profile for Liverpool's senior team and the way Arne Slot wants his no.10s to play.
