Now, this doesn't look like it's going to end. Liverpool want to build a dynasty and they are going to be in the market in order to bolster their squad even further in the coming years.
Already there are question marks about how to replace Virgil van Dijk or Mohamed Salah, when their time ultimately comes to an end at Anfield.
They have just under two years left on their current deals. It's possible they could extend beyond those terms and stay at the club even longer.
But it's also possible that they could look to move on as early as next summer. So much of life and football is simply unpredictable.
One area where Liverpool don't have to worry about replacing anyone is the goalkeeping department.
We've spoken about the amount of new signings coming in this summer, it's easy to forget that among those new arrivals was Giorgi Mamardashvili.
The Georgian goalkeeper was voted one of the best players in the world back in the 2024 Ballon d'Or results. He's a world-class talent, who has been described as someone who can become the best in the world.
But he has gone under the radar at Liverpool. Given the likes of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak and Milos Kerkez coming in, Mamardashvili has almost been forgotten about.
That's because Alisson is still no.1. So, the Georgian stopper has had to wait until the end of September to make his competitive debut for the club.
It was not quite the debut Mamardashvili will have wanted. He would have preferred to keep a clean-sheet. However, there was nothing he could have done about the goal Liverpool conceded.
And in fairness, when he was called upon he showcased his world-class talent making some stupendous saves to deny Southampton any opportunities.
Mamardashvili's distribution was also excellent and it was the perfect reminder of just exactly what is waiting on the wings for Liverpool.
He's an absolutely incredible goalkeeper, and the Reds will be in safe hands for many years to come when Alisson's time comes to an end at Anfield.
All of that will be thanks to Mamardashvili.
