Fabrizio Romano confirms 19-year-old set to ACCEPT Liverpool offer
Liverpool are set to see their offer accepted by a highly-rated 19-year-old. Fabrizio Romano confirms it.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Liverpool are closing in on a new deal for Wellity Lucky. The 19-year-old has had an offer on the table for the last few weeks.

Liverpool were far from the only team to make an offer, however. Lucky has had plenty of options if he wanted to depart the club this summer but he's picked the Reds.
"Understand Liverpool are now closing in on new 4 year deal set to be agreed with 19 year old talented centre back Wellity Lucky," Romano writes on Twitter.
"Despite several proposals, Liverpool are very confident to get it sealed shortly."
Lucky has been with the Reds for a while now, having initially arrived as an Under 13 player from Zaragoza. he signed his first professional contract back in 2023 and will now get a second with Liverpool.
The Spaniard is expected to have a bright future in the game as he gradually progresses with the Reds. Lucky featured for the full 90 minutes in every UEFA Youth League fixture last season, while he played nine times in Premier League 2.

Liverpool's future at centre-back
There's a lot of uncertainty at Liverpool around the centre-back positions and that hands an opportunity to academy players like Lucky. In fact, there's guarantee that any of the four first-team options will still be with the Reds in two years time.
Virgil van Dijk's contract expires in 2027 and it's unlikely that he's still at this level by then. Ibrahima Konate's contract expires next year and there's significant interest in him. Teams may try and tempt Liverpool into a sale this summer.
Then both Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah have struggled for minutes under Arne Slot. One or even both could depart ahead of next season.
It's also possible, of course, that all four are still at Liverpool in 2027. The point is that everything is up in the air and players like Lucky can take advantage of that if they remain patient.

Liverpool convincing Lucky to remain at the club certainly suggests both he and the Reds feel there's potential for a first-team role. Let's see if that comes to fruition over the coming seasons.
