Liverpool could seal another deal before long. Talks are fully expected to accelerate this week.

Liverpool have already completed four deals this summer - and there are a lot more to come. Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi are the two arrivals thus far.

They've essentially replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold and Caoimhin Kelleher directly in the first-team squad. Pecsi, though, will be a third-choice goalkeeper rather than Alisson Becker's direct backup.

This week will see more changes, too. Florian Wirtz is the headline there, of course, with Liverpool set to hold a medical for the playmaker on Friday.

That deal really should be wrapped up fairly quickly. Everything is done informally - it's now just about putting pen to paper and formalising documents.

The crazy thing is that Wirtz may not be the only record-breaking signing this week. Liverpool have other grand plans.

Milos Kerkez talks accelerate

The Times reports that Liverpool's talks with Bournemouth over Milos Kerkez will accelerate this week. The Reds hope to close that deal having completely sorted the player side discussions.

Bournemouth are understandably playing hardball with their asking price. They don't want to lose Kerkez for a cheap fee, even if they're complete resigned to losing the Hungarian international.

They're after £45m, which would make Kerkez one of the most expensive full-backs ever. Certainly, it would break Liverpool's own record by 50 per cent, set just a few weeks ago with Frimpong's arrival.

But the Cherries recently signed Adrien Ruffert from Rennes - their direct replacement for Kerkez. That's as sure a sign as you'll get that the youngster is offer somewhere and by every account it's to Liverpool.

Anfield Watch first reported exclusively that initial talks happened all the way back in November. It's been a long road but this week could finally see them get their man.
