Door OPENS for Liverpool to complete dream forward transfer
Liverpool can sign the perfect forward this summer with the door now opening for Richard Hughes to complete a deal for him.
Things were almost perfect for the Reds last season. Arne Slot delivered a league title in his debut campaign but, ever the perfectionist, it will be the defeat to Newcastle United in the League Cup final at Wembley and being knocked out by PSG in the Champions League, that will linger on his mind.

That's why Liverpool have already invested heavily into the squad this summer. The signings of Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz represent a significant boost.
Milos Kerkez is expected to follow them. Meanwhile, Giorgi Mamardashvili will also finally arrive at Anfield for pre-season this summer.
But the final jigsaw in the puzzle will still be missing. That jigsaw is a forward. Liverpool lacked a clinical no.9 throughout last season and that's an area where the Reds want to sign their ideal target.
Alexander Isak is absolutely the dream option for Liverpool at the moment. However, there is an equally dream-like forward for the Reds, who may actually be available.

Unlike Alexander Isak, who Newcastle will be reluctant to sell, there's a forward playing in France who is pretty much tailor-made for Slot's style of play and who could be available for a bargain price.
We're talking about Georges Mikautadze. The Georgian attacker reminds us of Diogo Jota in his prime. He's quick and he latches onto chances brilliantly.
Last year he stepped up for Georgia scoring three times in four matches to end-up as the joint-top scorer in the tournament.
Mikautadze has followed that up with a solid campaign for Lyon, where he made 28 goal contributions in 47 matches.
Those numbers make him an ideal target. Mikautadze can be very clinical in front of goal and he's versatile - he can play across the front three, which is exactly the type of forward Liverpool are looking for at the moment.
And now the doors have opened for Liverpool to make a move for him as well.
Tuesday night it was confirmed that Mikautadze's club Lyon have been relegated to the second division of France due to their accrued debt. It is understood Lyon intend to appeal the decision but things do not look good for the team at the moment.
Even if the appeal is successful, it's very clear that Lyon are in a difficult financial position and that gives Liverpool an advantage in potential negotiations.
Lyon will undoubtedly be forced to sell their prized assets in order to make up for their debts and save themselves regardless of what happens with their relegation to Ligue 2.

It's a golden chance for Liverpool to swoop in and take Mikautadze off their hands. He's definitely going to be one of those players on the market.
