Liverpool are ready to agree a major €60m transfer within the next 48 hours. Now will it play out that way?

Liverpool are pushing to secure a deal with Napoli this month. The Italian champions are looking to bolster their squad after a brilliant season and that's landed them at the table with the Reds.

There are two players on the agenda: Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa. The pair are both expected to leave Liverpool this summer, with their respective destinations the only real question.

Chiesa certainly wants a move back to Italy after a difficult campaign under Arne Slot. He featured in just 108 Premier League minutes across the season - so barely more than entire game.

Nunez is the interesting one, though. Liverpool hope to sell him for a sizeable fee after deciding last season that he would never be the player they hoped for.

Again, though: is Napoli his next club? We should find that one out shortly.

Napoli to make Darwin Nunez decision

Corriere Dello Sport claims Napoli are to make their decision on Nunez within 48 hours. Ultimately, they're deciding whether or not to meet Liverpool's asking price.

That asking price sits at around €60m and it doesn't appear that the Reds will budge. Not significantly, anyway.

And so Napoli need to decide whether to go all-in on Nunez or 'settle' for Lorenzo Lucca. The Italian likely costs around €30m, making him a budget option (sort of).

But Nunez is their priority target and the one they want. Napoli have to decide whether it's worth negotiating with Liverpool.

Now, Al-Hilal made an offer of around £70m back in January, as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch. The Reds rejected that, however, as they didn't want to sell mid-season.

There are no such issues this summer but Liverpool still don't want to sell cheap. Napoli's decision, then, will almost certainly be whether to pay around the asking price or not sign at all.

Their chances of negotiating down significantly are very, very slim if not non-existent. In the next two days, then, we should find out whether Liverpool are striking their biggest sale of the summer, then.
