Liverpool are busy in the market and any opportunity presented to them will be duly considered.

Even in areas of the pitch that might not need recruitment, the Reds will not shy away from taking advantage of a chance to further enhance Arne Slot's squad options ahead of next season.

Bournemouth are currently still the club that Milos Kerkez plays at, although a deal for him to join the Reds is set to not be far away now. According to all the intel, the Hungarian will be a Liverpool player.

Dean Huijsen was also a player at the Cherries that Liverpool were heavily interested in, although, the young Spanish centre-back joined Real Madrid instead, so we'll now be looking at other options.

However, a third Bournemouth star is being linked to the club, and if the club decides to act on their interest, then a second member of Andoni Iraola's squad might be heading to Merseyside.

Liverpool don't need Justin Kluivert, despite reports.

According to Caught Offside, the race for Bournemouth midfielder Kluivert now includes Liverpool, who have 'entered the conversation' for him alongside Tottenham, Newcastle and Manchester United.

The club is said to have been 'scouting the player and weighing up a potential move depending on other outgoings in their squad', although Liverpool already have players in each of the roles he plays.

Primarily, the 26-year-old Dutchman is an attacking midfielder, which is automatically problematic given the £100m investment Liverpool are making into Florian Wirtz, who will be the club's No. 10.

Furthermore, the Reds were using Dominik Szoboszlai in the role last season, and the Hungarian's all-round game is far superior when you consider his work on and off the ball. Kluivert might have scored 12 Premier League goals last season, but the important context is six of those were penalties.

The notion of having another attacking midfielder isn't quite as far-fetched as you might think - Rayan Cherki was assessed for a move to Liverpool alongside Wirtz, not instead of the German - but Bournemouth would quite rightly charge more than £31m that Manchester City paid for Cherki.

It's also plausible that Cody Gakpo could be joined by his fellow countryman on the left-wing, if Luis Diaz were to depart, given Kluivert has played 129 games in that position before, scoring 32 goals and assisting 25, but his Premier League proven role has been elsewhere. Why change back again?

As such, it feels a little bizarre to consider a move for Kluivert; he doesn't fit the age profile, he plays in the position Wirtz is likely to dominate in, and he wouldn't be a cheap market opportunity.

Bournemouth are also likely to outright dismiss any interest in him as well, given Huijsen, Kerkez and Illia Zabarnyi are already set to be leaving. Taking apart their squad would majorly set them back.

So keep an eye on this one, by all means, but the move doesn't make sense for the player, the Reds or his current club, but who knows, anything's possible while the summer transfer window is open.
