Arne Slot drops major Luis Diaz REPLACEMENT update
Arne Slot has publicly dropped an update on how Liverpool plan to replace Luis Diaz. The Colombian left for Bayern Munich this week.
Luis Diaz has left Liverpool after three and a half years with the Reds. It's been an up-and-down spell but no one can downplay his contributions to the title-winning campaign.
Diaz was the main-man from the left, while he also played a vital role as a makeshift centre-forward. That versatility was all-important under Arne Slot.
And so he'll be missed, undoubtedly. Diaz contributed 13 goals and five assists as Liverpool walked to the Premier League trophy.
Replacing that won't be easy.
So what exactly do Liverpool intend to do? There isn't that long left in the transfer window, after all, but there's hardly a long list of elite left-wingers who could arrive.
Things are made more difficult by the Alexander Isak pursuit. That will cost the club an incredible amount of money if they pull it off.

Arne Slot on Liverpool's left side
Slot spoke about Diaz's exit after the Reds' victory over Yokohama in Japan on Wednesday. The boss clearly has a plan to replace the winger - even if he's left the door open.
“At this moment in time, we still have Cody Gakpo, Rio (Ngumoha) is showing very good signs, and I think Florian Wirtz can play from the left side as well," he said, per the Athletic.
"There are enough options for me to choose from. But as I always say, another thing about Liverpool is that if we see a chance in the market, we never hesitate to bring someone in.
"In the end, it’s about quality, and we have already made some very good signings. In terms of quality, we are already in the right place.”
Liverpool will naturally keep that stance until the window shuts. If the right player pops up - at the right price - they'll move for him.
We do think the move for Isak complicates things, however. Liverpool aren't going to make any dramatic moves until they know what's going on there.
Or at least, it's difficult to imagine they do.

So let's see how that ones develops. As things stand, Liverpool are comfortable on the left with their options. If the Isak saga ends negatively, though, it's a position in which they may see their next upgrade.
Rest in peace, Diogo Jota.
