Liverpool more forward as favourites for €35m agreement
Liverpool are positioned as favourites to land a €35m deal, per reports. The Reds can move forward.
The summer transfer window is still a few months away but Liverpool are certainly making things happen already. For one, they've completed a summer transfer.
Jeremy Jacquet will join the Reds this summer from Rennes. That deal is completely sealed, with the centre-back choosing the Anfield move over Chelsea right at the January deadline.
Jacquet will remain with Rennes for the rest of the season. Now, whether he plays again after his shoulder injury is another matter but this was always a deal done months in advance.
But Liverpool won't stop there. In fact, they're apparently getting close to a second summer deal and we're not even in March.
Liverpool want Allan
Liverpool are moving forward on a deal for Allan, it seems. 'The Football' in Brazil reports that a deal is firmly on the table, with Palmeiras hoping for around €35m.
The report states that Liverpool are the preferred club for this one and in pole position as things stand. No deal is likely to go through pre-World Cup but the Reds could try to find an agreement in the coming weeks.
Allan, at 21, certainly fits alongside recent signings like Jacquet, Giovanni Leoni, Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez. The Reds are quite clearly signing players in that age bracket to develop together and there's no one currently in his position.
The Brazilian typically operates from the right - so the dream here is that he can be a long-term Mo Salah successor. Allan would be the only other right-sided forward in the squad, in fact.
And so this one makes a lot of sense. Watch this space - things could soon start moving quickly.
