Liverpool FINALLY fill Trent Alexander-Arnold void
Liverpool have struggled since Trent Alexander-Arnold departed in the summer, although they may have finally learnt how to adapt without him.
Reds fans were left fuming at Alexander-Arnold in the summer after departing for Real Madrid, not necessarily because of why he did it, but because of how he did it.
To make matters worse, Liverpool had struggled to replace him too and have had a bit of a problem at right-back so far this season, with his creative prowess certainly a huge miss.
However, slowly but surely, Arne Slot has been able to adapt Liverpool's style of play to suit the players they now have and move away from the reliance on Alexander-Arnold, with it starting to work a treat.
In fact, one player in particular has started to significantly benefit and just keeps on getting better and better, with his performances suggesting that he might even be better than the once-loved scouser.
Jeremie Frimpong is proving to be an excellent signing
Liverpool made a lot of signings in the summer and bar Hugo Ekitike, they all took their time to get up and running.
The player who took the longest, however, was Jeremie Frimpong, with the Dutchman's start to life at Anfield being plagued with injuries and sub-par cameos.
However, he has really come into his own as of late and is a real threat down the right-hand side, even starting to play a key part in goals.
Against Marseille he really showed his worth, though, and had one of his steadiest games in a Red shirt, while also being a constant danger throughout.
He might try and claim the second goal for his own, but it was very clearly an own goal from the goalkeeper, although it was his cross that caused the issue.
Not only was his dominant in the final third and linked up well with those around him, but he was exceptional defensively too, something that Alexander-Arnold was often criticised for.
He made five defensive contributions, won 75% of his tackles and 50% of his ground duels, as per sofascore, with the whole backline looking solid throughout.
Overall, the balance down the right flank appears to have been solved and Frimpong's form is a big reason for this, with fans hoping that he can kick on from here and prove to Alexander-Arnold that they do not need him anyway.
Jeremie Frimpong's versatility can be utilised
Supporters have already seen that Frimpong is best when going forward, although the fact he is adding the defensive side to his game too is also a good sign.
However, if Slot needs more options in attack, the Dutchman could be the man he calls upon to play on the wing, like he has done many times this season already, highlighting further how he is such an astute signing.
Of course, a lot depends on Conor Bradley and whether he can stay fit, but if he can, it looks like Liverpool have two solid options for the foreseeable future.
