Liverpool want to become a sustainable dynasty that continues to develop and nurture the world's elite talent.

Over the course of the last decade, the academy has been extremely successful in both recruitment and developing future stars.

From Raheem Sterling to Trent Alexander-Arnold, as well as multitude of other young stars, have gone onto play key roles in Liverpool's first-team and at top clubs elsewhere in Europe and across the world.

The club's recruitment in this area has been second to none. Liverpool have done really well to attract the best young players in the country.

They have also started to bring in talent from across the globe. Armin Pecsi, Ifeanyi Ndukwe and Mor Talla Ndiaye are all examples of Liverpool's shrewd recruitment, bringing in under the radar gems from Europe and beyond.

Sidy Barhama Ndiaye is also expected to join upon his 18th birthday.

Undoubtedly, the biggest coup of Liverpool's academy recruitment in recent years has been securing Rio Ngumoha's future.

He came through Chelsea's academy and was extremely highly rated, even getting the opportunity to train with the first-team as a 15-year-old.

But Liverpool swooped in to secure his services when his contract expired at the end of the 2023/24 season. Ngumoha saw a better pathway into senior football at Anfield and therefore decided to make the jump.

The rest is history. Despite being only 17-years-old, Ngumoha has already broken so many records at Liverpool, from becoming the club's youngest ever goal-scorer in the Premier League to being the Reds' youngest ever starter - all at just 16-years-old.

Impressively, he has already played 14 times for Liverpool, and those appearances are only going to increase as he grows and matures by regularly training with elite players in the first-team.

There's no denying that Ngumoha is a world-class talent. He has the potential to be one of the best players in the world.

For a long time though, Liverpool have not known just how much he cost them. Traditionally, even though Ngumoha's contract expired, a player moving at his age to another Premier League club normally has to go through a tribunal where the two clubs have to agree a fee in settlement.

This has taken a while between Chelsea and Liverpool but an agreement has now finally been reached, 18 months after Ngumoha joined Liverpool.

The Athletic report Liverpool have to pay an initial fee worth £2.8million - which could rise by a further £4m based on performance add-ons for club and country.

Chelsea will also get a 20% sell on fee if Ngumoha is sold by Liverpool.

For a player of his talent, that is an incredible bargain. The tribunal definitely worked in Liverpool's favour.
