Liverpool FC News: Mo Salah to be DROPPED with special star ready to replace him
Liverpool have the best right-winger in the Premier League in Mohamed Salah.
Now into his ninth season, there's very little left for him to do before he'll eventually be considered the best winger in English football history. His goal and assist numbers are now astronomical.

It's now just a matter of time until he's fully appreciated by fans across the world. Even though the Reds' start to the season has been underwhelming, he's still got three goals and three assists to his name in seven competitive appearances. His knack of delivering attacking returns is insane.
However, the performances have not been good and we're yet to see Salah play a match where he's been visually impressive without necessarily having a goal contribution to cover up his mistakes.

As such, it's no longer out of the realms of possibility that he could be dropped by Arne Slot soon.
Chiesa can step up to the plate
I say this with a tinge of scepticism, but Federico Chiesa would excel if given the keys to the right-wing role in the side, since he's now returned to full fitness and started the season in great form.
Across his career, the Italian has played 101 games as the right-sided player and in that time, he's scored 34 goals and made 19 assists - the most goal contributions for any position he's featured in.
To consider it his best position is a bit of a stretch, since his highest average goals and assists per 90 are at the left-wing at 0.56, compared to 0.38 on the right (per Wyscout), but he's experienced most of his football on the right, so while he might not be at his most prolific, it be where he prefers to be.
And why should we look to facilitate Chiesa by moving Salah around? Because he has two goals and two assists in 153 minutes played this season. You can't leave a player like that on the sidelines.
The more straightforward way of getting him into the side would be to play him down the left occasionally, with Cody Gakpo making way for him. But Salah isn't exactly undroppable right now.
Both wide positions are up for grabs and if Slot were to be more flexible with his selections, then we might not have seen the Reds lose to Crystal Palace on Saturday. More often than not, you can rely on Salah to get the team out of a hole, but he is getting older. Rotation is to be expected more often.
Once the stigma around Chiesa dissipates, Liverpool will stand a far better chance at succeeding, because their squad depth will feel encouraged that there actually is a way into the starting XI on occasion, rather than constantly being asked to make a difference off the bench in a mini cameo.
It goes without saying that Liverpool will get better as a side - they've been way below their usual standards so far this season, and it's great that Chiesa has stepped up when we've needed him to.
Salah will kick into gear eventually, as the new signings and the rest of the squad will do, but until then, no one should feel their position in the team is safe. It's a meritocracy until Slot after all.
