Liverpool believe they have second Rio Ngumoha: A wonderkid who can reach the elite level
Liverpool believe they have a wonderkid who can reach the 'highest level'. A second Rio Ngumoha?
Liverpool promoted Rio Ngumoha to their first-team setup this season and it's clear the teenager has an immense future. Though, he has been unfortunate.
Liverpool's poor consistency has limited his opportunities, with Arne Slot opting for senior players more often than not. It's not dissimilar to what happened with Harvey Elliott back in 2022/23.
But Ngumoha has incredible hype around him and the club is absolutely certain that he's a talent they can invest enormously in. He arrived from Chelsea with that hype and everything we've seen since backs it up.
It's only a matter of time before he reaches the top, top level. Liverpool just need to do what they can to get him there.
Ridiculously, he's not the only one where that's the case.
Josh Abe is next
Similar hype is now growing around Josh Abe. The 16-year-old is training with Liverpool's first-team as they attempt to lock his long-term future down.
Because Abe is an enormous talent. Liverpool rarely gift players this young time with the senior group - it's reserved for the truly special ones.
But they believe Abe is exactly that. The Athletic quotes those working with the teenager as believing he can reach the 'highest level'.
Liverpool just need to hope that it's with them. Abe will soon need to sign a contract with a club and despite being with the Reds since he was nine, they have no right to keep him. Not until he signs.
There's enormous interest from around Europe in the player but Liverpool will be hopefully. He's a local player who is getting opportunities at youth level - the Reds just need to make sure he knows those opportunities will continue into the first-team.
His hattrick at the weekend will only have increased the desire on Liverpool's side to get him signed up. Though, it will have done the same for every interested party.
But the Reds know they'll have another incredible talent destined for the first-team if they can agree a deal here. So fingers crossed.
