Liverpool are reportedly ready to activate £75 million release clause for defender

Liverpool are interested in signing Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde, according to El Nacional, as cited by TeamTalk.

The report states that the Reds are willing to activate the 23-year-old's £75 million release clause this month.

The report further adds that Kounde would like to make the move to Anfield.

Kounde is a decent player. The centre-back has been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 6.82 across the 2021-22 La Liga campaign.

Footage of Kounde also highlights that he is good in the air and that he is a strong passer of the football.

However, we don't want to see Liverpool make a move for the defender. The reality is, Jurgen Klopp already possesses a number of centre-back options (Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate).

Therefore, it would make no sense for the Reds to sign Kounde. But, only time will tell if Liverpool are genuinely interested in the 23-year-old.
