Curtis Jones could be on the move as he enters his final year under contract. There is also uncertainty surrounding the futures of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai

Both have a contract until the end of the 2027/28 season, Szoboszlai seems to be a bit closer in negotiations with the club meanwhile Mac Allister has distanced himself with progress on contract talks.

The two have also been linked with moves elsewhere. Mac Allister is on the radar of Manchester United and Real Madrid. Szoboszlai is also courted by the Spanish giants.

This means Liverpool have to think about their midfield in a very strategic manner and sign a midfielder for the first time in three years.

So many midfield options have been floated about so far. There are a myriad of exciting young midfielders emerging on the scene all at the same time.

But there is only one player who is perfect for Liverpool, and he's only just arrived on the scene.

Christ Inao Oulai is not a name you will be familiar with, but he's going to be a name the entire world will know one day because he is the brightest young midfielder coming up right now.

The 19-year-old Ivorian plays for Trabzonspor and caught the eye in Ligue 2 last season as well, while playing there as a teenager.

He isn't the tallest but he has incredible energy and he covers a lot of ground. Oulai has this ability to be everywhere all at once that makes him perfectly suited to the high intensity football that Liverpool want to play.

At 19-years-old he is incredible mature for his age. He has been dictating games for Trabzonspor in Turkey's top flight, and has showcased brilliant composure on the ball.

Oulai is an excellent distributor of the ball, averaging 50 passes per 90 minutes in Turkey's Super Lig and completing 91.4% of his passes.

He doesn't just play it safe, he progresses the ball and averages 7.7 passes into the final third. On top of that, he can make forward runs as well, averaging 2.34 progressive runs per 90 minutes.

So, he's just a very forward thinking player when he's on the ball.

Defensively, he is all action. He presses really high and loves to win the ball back in the opposition's half, averaging around 2.5 recoveries per 90 minutes in the opposition's half.

Oulai caught the eye at the African Cup of Nations for the Ivory Coast as well becoming a key linchpin of his side, winning two Player of the Match awards in the process and winning 29 of his 31 duels.

He's very much the type of player you want in midfield because of his relentless energy and his consistent ability to win duels.

Oulai is simply the perfect option for Liverpool.

In a market where midfielders are going to come at a premium, it's just became very clear that the smart option is for Liverpool to think outside the box.

That is why Oulai is clearly going to be Liverpool's next transfer. It's just obvious, he's exactly what the Reds need, and he's exactly the kind of player Michael Edwards loves to target.
