There's excitement at Liverpool at how one brilliant youth player is developing. The first-team calls.

Next in line certainly seems to be Rio Ngumoha. The teenager saw a goal cruelly ruled out against Brighton at the weekend but there's no question he has the talent to start delivering regularly at some stage.

Patience, as always, is key, however.

Trey Nyoni, too, is starting to get more minutes at senior level. He's long looked like a star in the making and it appears Arne Slot is willing to start trusting him a bit more.

And now there's another youngster who's developing at a rapid rate. He's surely first-team bound.

Kieran Morrison shines

Kieran Morrison was on the bench against Brighton at the weekend but unfortunately didn't get on. He did get a start for the Under 21s on Sunday, though, and that was a chance he took.

In fact, Morrison was captain of the team in Amad Nallo's absence. He oversaw a 4-3 win against West Bromwich Albion, with the midfielder getting the winner.

That continues a brilliant run of form from Morrison. He's got six goals and an assist in his last five Under 21 appearances, two of which came as captain. Three of those goals proved to be winners, too.

Manager Rob Page certainly sees Morrison getting better and better, saying the development has been clear over the last six months.

“I’ve seen a massive difference in Kiro from when I’ve been here six, seven months now," said Page, per Red Men TV. "The difference from when we first worked with him in pre-season to now is night and day, it really is.

"I’m seeing a real maturity in his performance on the pitch, but also off the pitch. He’s earned the armband, he’s earned it."

Morrison quite plainly has immense positive momentum right now. It's got him on the senior bench but if this continues, he'll be getting first-team minutes before long.

Another in a continuously growing line of elite prospects coming through at Anfield.
