Liverpool take on Brighton this weekend in a massive game. Arne Slot has already confirmed one star is back and ready to play.

Liverpool hope to make it five games unbeaten on Saturday afternoon as they host Brighton in the Premier League. Of course, 'five games unbeaten' hides the overall performances, which haven't exactly been solid.

It features a 2-0 win over a blunt West Ham United before drawing with newly-promoted Sunderland at home and then newly-promoted Leeds United away. The most notable result - and performance - came against Inter in midweek as Liverpool went to Milan and came away with a 1-0 win.

That was undoubtedly a huge upgrade on what we've been seeing lately. It feels like something to build on, too, as Liverpool executed a gameplan properly for the first time in months.

They'll hope that brings some momentum and continued success against Brighton. A win would go quite a long way to turning the atmosphere around - especially with the Mo Salah's future complicating things.

So with that in mind, Liverpool have had a fitness boost at the right time.

Federico Chiesa is back

Liverpool weren't able to call on Federico Chiesa in Italy as he was ill. That was a blow, given Salah and Gakpo's joint-absence created a need for a new winger to step into the team.

Chiesa, though, is back. Arne Slot confirmed as much on Friday in his pre-match press conference, saying that Chiesa is training and should be good to go.

"Federico is not ill anymore," said Slot. "He trained yesterday and he trained today again, so I assume he's ready to be in the squad tomorrow again."

That's a win - assuming Chiesa actually get onto the pitch. Surely he will, though, as Gakpo is still out and no one is particularly sure what's going to happen with Salah.

Is this the opportunity he's been waiting for? Chiesa has looked fantastic at times this season and absolutely deserves his chance to perform.

Perhaps all the madness around Liverpool can give him that.
