Liverpool have just taken a gigantic step towards signing a sensational winger. This is the green light they needed.

Liverpool aren't just in the market for a new winger - they're rebuilding their wing options completely. That's the message this summer, with Mohamed Salah leaving and Cody Gakpo heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds lacked production from wide areas last season as it was, and they've gone all-out. Or at least, are in the process of going all-out.

Victor Munoz has joined from Osasuna but Liverpool aren't stopping there. They're in talks for Bradley Barcola despite Paris Saint-Germain setting an enormous asking price.

And reports broke on Tuesday evening that they're also in talks with PSG about Ibrahim Mbaye. We're huge fans of the teenager and have pushed for a deal to be done - now it seems incredibly possible.

Liverpool's big rivals for Mbaye are Bayer Leverkusen, with Fabrizio Romano among those confirming that the German side have been in talks with PSG. The player appears to have given priority to the Reds, however.

And now KSTA in Germany report that Leverkusen have moved on from Mbaye. They feel the deal has become too expensive and will instead prioritise a return for Moussa Diaby.

That's a major road block out of the way for Liverpool. Of course, you'd back the club to beat Leverkusen to a signing, even just financially, but it was always possible that Mbaye preferred guaranteed first-XI football in Germany for his development.

It now appears that Liverpool have nothing standing in their way, then. PSG will reportedly sell for €40m, per Fabrice Hawkins, and that's a price the Reds can certainly meet for one of the standout teenagers in world football right now.

This could move quickly.
