Wijnaldum to Barcelona talk
Ronald Koeman was announced as the new Barcelona manager this week, and it was only a matter of time before Georginio Wijnaldum’s name came into the fold.
Barcelona are reportedly looking for a major overhaul of staff and players after their 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and as Wijnaldum was such a huge part of Koeman’s team during his tenure as Netherlands boss, the Liverpool midfielder may be on top of his wish list.
Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports has reported that Koeman has close relationship with the 29-year-old, however, Barcelona are yet to make an official approach for the midfielder.
Interest shown in Shaqiri
Italian side Lazio are interested in Xherdan Shaqiri, according to a report in The Express.
The Switzerland international has produced some great moments for Liverpool such as his brace against Manchester United in 2018, however, his time at the club has been plagued by injuries and it wouldn’t be a total surprise to see him depart this window.
Premier league clubs looking at Rhian Brewster
According to Goal, up to seven Premier League clubs have Rhian Brewster on their radar. These include the likes of Brighton and Hove Albion, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.
This comes as no surprise after Brewster’s successful loan spell at Championship side Swansea, where he scored 11 goals in 22 games.
The 20-year-old may find himself in a similar situation to teammate Harry Wilson, who spent last season on loan at Bournemouth gaining Premier League experience after a loan spell at Derby in the Championship the year prior.
Latest on Thiago reports
Thiago Alcantara is continuing to make noise amongst Liverpool fans. Especially after playing a part in Bayern Munich’s 8-2 victory over Barcelona and subsequent 3-0 victory over Lyon in the Champions League Semi Final.
Melissa Reddy of the Independent has reported that the £30million price tag may not be the key reason stopping a deal, but the fact that Liverpool already have so many senior midfielders in the squad.
Adam Lewis goes out on loan
Liverpool left-back Adam Lewis has joined Amiens SC on a season-long loan.
This comes after committing his long-term future to Liverpool after signing a new contract with the Reds last month.
