Brewster joins Sheffield United
Rhian Brewster has officially signed for Sheffield United from Liverpool for £23.5m. As reported by James Pearce of The Athletic, Sheffield United will pay £23.5m for the 20-year-old and Liverpool will still have a close eye on the 20-year-old, with the deal including a 15 percent sell-on clause and hold a buy-back clause that is valid for three years.
It is a shame for many fans to see Brewster depart, but with Firminho and Minamino above him in the pecking order, he wasn’t going to get any Premier League game time. Sheffield United is a good move for the striker and £23.5m is a good amount of money for The Reds.
According to The Athletic, Xherdan Shaqiri is also set to leave Liverpool.
Liverpool have reportedly been contacted by two clubs regarding interest in Shaqiri, one being from the Serie A.
It was this interest that led to the 29-year-old being left out of the Liverpool squad against Arsenal on Thursday. He is expected to have left the club before the transfer deadline day on Monday.
Harry Wilson speculation
Throughout the entire transfer window, it’s looked like Harry Wilson would be leaving Liverpool, however now with just days before the windows closure and the likely departure of Shaqiri it’s looking like the 23-year-old could stay, despite interest from premier league clubs.
Liverpool reportedly received a bid of £12m plus £4m in add-ons from Burnley for the midfielder, falling short of their valuation of the midfielder. However, Aston Villa, Leeds, Newcastle, Leicester, Southampton and Fulham are all reportedly still interested in the Wales international.
Wilson made just his second Liverpool appearance on Thursday, and despite missing a penalty shootout he impressed with his performance, earning praise from Juergen Klopp post-match.
Interest in Marko Grujic
Another player who could be departing from Merseyside this window is Marco Grucic, despite making two appearances for Liverpool against Lincoln and Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.
According to Dominic King of the Daily Mail, Southampton and West Ham are both interested in the 24-year-old. Liverpool value the midfielder at around £20m.
