Liverpool are continuing to work hard as the new season approaches, with Jurgen Klopp putting those not on international duty through their paces.
For the first time since the injuries they picked up, Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip were amongst the players training this week.
This will come as great news for the club.
Liverpool hope to allow fans into Sheffield United game in October
This week James Pearce of The Athletic reported that Liverpool are hoping to allow a limited number of fans into Anfield for next month’s Premier League fixture against Sheffield United.
The current plan for the October 24th game is to allow a capacity of 12,500 into the stadium, using all four stands and implementing social distancing measures.
If these plans go ahead, it will be the first home game to be played in front of fans since Liverpool’s Champions League defeat to Athletico Madrid on March 11th.
Tyler Morton signs first professional contract
Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton has signed his first professional contract with the club this week.
The 17-year-old has been at Liverpool since the age of seven and played in the under-18 side last season.
Michael Thomas joins academy coaching staff
Former Liverpool midfielder Michael Thomas joined the club’s academy coaching staff this week.
The 53-year-old will mentor the players to help them develop as footballers.
Thomas spent seven years at Liverpool making 124 appearances. There’s no doubt his experience and knowledge will be hugely beneficial for the youngsters at the club.
