Fabinho injury

The biggest story coming out of Anfield this week is that Liverpool midfielder Fabinho picked up an injury in Tuesday night’s Champions League clash against FC Midtjylland.

The Brazilian has been filling in at centre-back for Liverpool due to injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip.

Fabinho, who has impressed as a centre-back, was the Man of the Match against Ajax last week.

Fabinho came off in the first half against FC Midtjylland. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp revealed that he is unsure how serious the injury is.

In his post-match press conference, as quoted by the club’s official website, Klopp said: “Fab, I don’t know. Muscle injuries are like this, you get the result tomorrow morning probably, we have to wait for that.”

The Brazil FA since confirmed that the 27-year-old has been ruled out of their squad for the November internationals as a result of the injury.

Fixture update

Two of Liverpool’s upcoming Premier League fixtures next month have been rescheduled this week.

Liverpool’s away clash with Manchester City will now be a 4:30PM kick off on Sunday the 8th of November. The game will be broadcasted on Sky Sports.

Their trip to Brighton has also been rescheduled, moving to a 12:30PM start on Saturday the 28th of November. The match will be broadcasted on BT Sport.

Alisson return

Perhaps the best news coming out of Liverpool this week is goalkeeper Alisson returning to the squad.

Alisson returned to the squad to start in Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Sheffield United at the weekend after missing the last three matches due to a collarbone injury. He also played in the 2-0 win over FC Midtjylland in the Champions League midweek.
