Liverpool youngster Taiwo Awoniyi has not given too much away regarding his future with the Reds.

Awoniyi has been on loan at Bundesliga club Mainz since August 2019. The 22-year-old is yet to feature in Liverpool’s first XI.

The forward was recently asked about his future at Liverpool, but he did not give too much away.

“We are always in contact but presently I’m a player of Mainz and that’s where my focus is now and we will see what happens at the end of the season,” Awoniyi told Tribal Football, when asked about his Liverpool future.

Awoniyi has not had the most productive campaign at Mainz. The forward has scored one goal in nine appearances for the Bundesliga club.

With that being the case, it would not be a surprise if the Reds did move the forward on. Also, Liverpool aren’t short of attacking options at the moment.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Divock Origi at his disposal.

As Liverpool already have the aforementioned names in Awoniyi’s position, he may not be a required player at Anfield.

Awoniyi has a current market value of €3.20 million. Liverpool signed him for €1.10 million back in 2015.
