Pundit Jamie Carragher believes that former Red Robbie Fowler looked strange in a Leeds United kit.

Fowler departed Anfield for Elland Road for a transfer fee of €16.8 million in 2001.

Carragher was talking on Instagram about how it is strange seeing some players in another kit. The former Red named Fowler as a player that did not look right in a Leeds United kit.

“I always used to look at Baresi or Maldini, heroes of mine, and you just see them in that [AC Milan] kit,” Carragher told his  Instagram channel.

“I was sad when Raul left Real Madrid, because he just didn’t look right in another kit.

“Even Robbie Fowler, when he left Liverpool, and you see him in the Leeds kit – he was meant to be at Liverpool!”

Fowler did eventually return to Liverpool in 2006 for a second stint at the club. When his career at Anfield finished, he played 369 matches for the club.

Fowler scored 183 goals and registered 33 assists for the club, which does highlight how good he was for the Reds.

As I was born in 1996, Fowler was a bit before my time. However, I completely get what Carragher is saying about some players looking strange in certain kits.

I had a similar experience when Fernando Torres departed Liverpool for Chelsea. It was bizarre seeing him play for another club.

You get used to seeing a player wear a certain kit that it is strange if they do change teams.
