When working for BT Sport back in 2019, former Red Robbie Fowler said that he had a “big problem” with how some Liverpool supporters still loved Luis Suarez.

In 2011, Liverpool signed Suarez from Ajax for a transfer fee of €26.50 million. Suarez scored 82 goals in 133 appearances for the Reds.

Suarez eventually departed Liverpool for Barcelona back in 2014 for a transfer fee of €81.72 million.

Back in 2019, Fowler said (00:05) that he had a “big problem” with how some Liverpool supporters still loved Suarez.

Fowler said (00:00) that he is a fan of Suarez as a player. But, Fowler added (00:10) that he was not happy with how Suarez left the club.

Fowler believes (00:21) that Suarez was only playing well for the Reds because he wanted to leave Anfield.

As Liverpool supporters ourselves, we do have a soft spot for Suarez, and that is because he scored some unbelievable goals for the club.

Our favourite was his goal against Norwich City at Carrow Road back in 2012. Suarez scored from just beyond the halfway line, which is not an easy thing to do.

But, we respect Fowler’s opinion, as he did win six trophies with the Reds. With that being the case, his opinion regarding the club should be valued.
