On this day in 2014, Liverpool beat Swansea 4-3 in a sensational Premier League match as they challenge for the title that season.
Brendan Rodgers’ side struggled to deal with Swansea’s attacking talents, but were able to come away with the three points thanks to Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge both scoring braces.
The Reds were 2-0 up in 20 minutes through Sturridge and Henderson, before Swansea scored twice in four minutes to level the scores. Sturridge then put Liverpool 3-2 up just before half time to put his side in the driving seat.
However, their advantage did not last long as Wilfried Bony was pushed to the floor in the 47th minute to win a penalty for Swansea, which he duly converted. Liverpool then snatched the win in the 74th minute as Henderson followed up on his own shot to tap into an empty net.
Liverpool’s official Twitter account shared a throwback to the game, showcasing all seven goals in the thrilling encounter.
