Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has named Liverpool as the best team in the country despite his side currently sitting top of the Premier League.

Guardiola responded to the suggestion that his team are the best in the world right now by pointing out that Bayern Munich and Liverpool are both better because of their successes last season. He says that Manchester City have won nothing yet, with the rest of the season still to play, and that Liverpool are still the champions of England.

Liverpool won the Premier League title last season and are currently lagging behind in the race to retain their crown. Manchester City are 19 points clear of the Reds after 26 games, with Jurgen Klopp’s side sixth in the table and two points off the Champions League positions.

Empire of the Kop posted the clip on Twitter, with Guardiola reacting to a journalist quoting David Moyes as saying City are the best in Europe.
