Thiago made his long-awaited return to the Liverpool team on Wednesday night as he came off the bench against Newcastle in a 0-0 draw in the Premier League.

The midfielder came on with 17 minutes to go in an attempt to help Liverpool find the winning goal. Despite Jurgen Klopp’s team failing to win the match, Thiago’s cameo showed signs that he could be a key cog in Liverpool’s midfield for the rest of the season.

He won five aerial battles, made one interception and attempted 23 passes in those 17 minutes, including six long passes to stretch the play. The Spaniard was constantly looking to get on the ball and progress the play from deep, playing between the lines and finding teammates in pockets of space, whilst also offering energy defensively to win the ball back and battle.

CF Comps shared a montage of his involvements in the game on Twitter, showing off the midfielder’s incredible technique on the ball during the game shown on Amazon Prime Video.
