Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has paid tribute to Dejan Lovren, who has officially departed the club for Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg.

Klopp stated that Lovren is a “Liverpool legend”. The centre-back departs Liverpool having won four major honours with the club.

Klopp believes that Lovren has been very important to Liverpool’s recent success. Lovren is not the best defender that we have ever seen, but he was still deemed good enough by Klopp to be apart of his squad.

Klopp was voted as the best coach in world football back in 2018-19, so he clearly has some idea when it comes to judging a player.

Lovren signed for Liverpool from Southampton for a transfer fee of €25.30 million back in 2014. We thank Lovren for his six years of service.
