Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Thiago Alcantara’s injury situation is looking promising as the Reds prepare to travel to Newcastle on Wednesday night.
Thiago has been out injured since October and Klopp says he returned to team training last Friday, although he stresses that this does not mean he will instantly be ready to play Premier League football. Klopp admits that he is not completely sure if he will be available for the game, but does say that it is looking promising.
The Spanish midfielder has played twice for Liverpool since his summer move from Bayern Munich. He played the second half of a 2-0 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and then the full 90 against Everton in a 2-2 draw – his last match for the club to date.
Liverpool’s official Twitter account shared the clip (00:00-00:50), with Klopp providing an update on Thiago’s injury ahead of the game.
