Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has opened up on why he did the ‘shuffle’ before lifting the Champions League trophy last season.

It was one year ago when the Reds defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the Champions League final.

Prior to the game, Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson was teasing Henderson about what the trophy lift could look like. However, Liverpool still had to win the game.

When the full-time whistle went, Henderson did the ‘shuffle’ when he lifted the trophy. He stated that he did not plan on celebrating in that particular manner.

The ‘shuffle’ also made an appearance when Liverpool won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

I personally loved the celebration, as it allowed the players to savour the moment for just a tad longer.

Henderson’s comments can be heard in the video below. The interview was conducted by LFCTV.
