Former West Ham striker and TalkSport pundit Carlton Cole believes Liverpool are in trouble after injuries to both Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho.
Cole says that Liverpool’s defence is a problem due to the injury concerns in that area of the pitch and says that they are worse off than Manchester City are without Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus. He points out that Man City have other forwards who can chip in with goals, whilst that may not be the case for Liverpool with the players stepping in for Van Dijk and Fabinho.
Speaking on TalkSport (28/10/2020), Cole offered his opinion on the current injury situation at Liverpool and Manchester City.
“It’s more devastating for #LFC!” ✅
“City have got people that can score goals like Raheem, Mahrez and Ferran Torres.”

Virgil van Dijk could be out for the rest of the season after damaging his ACL against Everton earlier this month. He is set for surgery and is facing a number of months on the sidelines, potentially meaning that he will not play for Liverpool again until the 2021/22 campaign.
Fabinho came off injured in the Champions League on Tuesday night, but Jurgen Klopp is yet to give a definitive assessment of his knock. Klopp may be able to give a better answer in the coming days after the medical staff have had a chance to see what the damage is.
