On deadline day of the January transfer window, Liverpool signed centre-back Ben Davies from Preston North End for a transfer fee of €1.85 million.

However, Davies is yet to make his first-team debut. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has left him out of the senior squad on a number of occasions this season.

With that being the case, we were not shocked to hear that Davies was not in the squad to face Arsenal at the Emirates last weekend.

Some Liverpool fans reacted to the aforementioned news on Twitter. Going by the responses below, it would be fair to say that the Anfield faithful don’t understand why the club signed Davies.

The Anfield faithful do make a good point. If Davies is not going to play, he might as well have stayed at Preston North End.

Before signing with Liverpool, Davies made 19 appearances in the Championship this season. Davies was a regular for Preston North End.

Now, Davies is not even playing football. With that being the case, it would be fair to assume that he regrets moving to Anfield.
