Three Premier League clubs have reportedly joined Liverpool in the race to land Torino central defender Gleison Bremer in the summer transfer window.
According to Italian outlet Toro News, Everton, Fulham and West Ham are all tracking his progress and are ready to pursue a deal for the defender at the end of the season.
The report claims that Liverpool have been interested in the defender for a while and could also return with a move for him along with the other three sides from the Premier League.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Liverpool’s issues at centre-back this season makes it no surprise to see them being linked with another potential centre-back signing for the summer. Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are all ruled out for the rest of the season, whilst Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have also struggled with injuries at times. This has left Jurgen Klopp bereft of options at the back for the majority of the campaign so far, despite signing Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak in the January transfer window.
If Liverpool decide to dip back into the market in the summer for a defender, Bremer appears to be a decent option on paper. At 23, Bremer has plenty of years left ahead of him to develop and could be a player who is able to grow under Klopp’s coaching. He has already enjoyed a rich vein of form with Torino this season in the Serie A, averaging an impressive WhoScored rating of 6.95 across 19 starts, showing that he has found some consistency in his game despite his young age.
