Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson suffered a muscle injury against Everton last weekend.

As a result of the injury, the 30-year-old was substituted during the first half of the Premier League clash at Anfield.

According to the Express, as cited by Anfield Watch’s Twitter account, Henderson is expected to miss Liverpool’s next five matches.

Henderson is set to miss games against Sheffield United, Chelsea, Fulham, Wolves and RB Leipzig.

This is awful news. Liverpool already have a number of injury problems.

Liverpool are now without the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Diogo Jota, Joel Matip and Henderson.

Due to Liverpool missing a number of quality first-team players, there is a serious possibility that they won’t make the top four.

Liverpool’s form is down as a result of the aforementioned injuries.

The reigning champions sit in sixth-place of the Premier League table. Liverpool sit five points outside the top four.

It would be catastrophic if Liverpool did not make the top four. All the top players want to play in the Champions League.

If Liverpool don’t qualify for Europe’s elite competition, top players won’t want to join the club come the summer.
