Paris Saint-Germain reportedly the front runners to sign Sadio Mane

Paris Saint-Germain are the front runners to sign Liverpool winger Sadio Mane if he does not sign a new deal with the club, according to BILD's Christian Falk, as cited by Anfield Watch on Twitter.

The Senegal international is out of contract at the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign.

With that being the case, there is plenty of talk regarding Mane's long-term future. According to Falk, PSG could be the 30-year-old's next club if he does end up leaving Anfield.

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool signed Mane from Southampton for a transfer fee of £37.08 million back in the summer of 2016.

Since then, the winger has scored 119 goals and registered 48 assists in 267 appearances for the club's first-team.

Mane has won the Champions League, Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Premier League title, League Cup and FA Cup with the Reds.

Former Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand has even labelled the Senegal international as "world-class" because of what he has achieved with Liverpool.

As quoted by HITC, he told BT Sport the following: “The important part is that when players come through the door here (Liverpool), they improve. Look at most of the players that come here.

"When Mane came here you wouldn’t have said he would be a world-class finisher, striker, really, he’d be a top one, but would he be world-class?

"Even Mo Salah, when he came here you never would have imagined he’d be doing what he’s doing. But they’ve improved so much and had such an impact, you need to champion the coaching and the recruitment here."

Overall, Mane has been an exceptional signing for Liverpool. At 30 years of age, we still believe that he has plenty to offer.

We don't want to see Mane leave Liverpool. Therefore, hopefully the club and the forward can reach new terms.
