Due to a limited pre-season because of the pandemic, it is great to hear that some of Liverpool’s first-team got some minutes under their belt.

Liverpool only played four pre-season games leading into the 2020-21 Premier League season, so it would be fair to assume that many of the club’s first-team players are underdone as a result.

By playing another friendly game, it means that the aforementioned list of players will be more prepared if they are called upon to play in the Premier League in the coming weeks.

A great decision by the club to organise the match.
